About Matt
Giving back to the sport he loves is one of Matt’s main priorities. Presenting speaking engagements across the U.S and spreading the unique message of sport and overcoming adversity. Spreading his knowledge of the sport is also of great importance when he teaches and mentors hundreds of the wheelchair basketball youth at basketball summer camps. Demonstrating proper work ethic, leadership abilities, encouraging academic achievement as well as athletic excellence.
Matt is paving the way for the great athletes that come after him; however recognizing and respecting the great leaders that came before him. “Wheelchair Basketball has opened the door to so many incredible experience in my life. I want to give back to this sport. My hope is to provide similar experiences to future athletes by creating a clear path to follow.”
Being Social is High on Matt’s Priority List
Off the court and out of competition, Matt is extremely social and loves to enjoy time with what he refers to as an “outstanding” group of friends that he’s acquired from all over the world through sport and his years of college at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. It’s extremely rare to find him without his one of a kind smile, sharing it with the world. “Life is fun! Enjoy it to the best of your ability! I have surrounded myself with the greatest group of people I could ever ask for and I love each and every one of my friends and family.”
Meeting new people comes with the territory of being a world traveler and Matt loves to meet people! Sharing his story and learning about others is something he enjoys very much.
Other Things Close to Matt’s Heart
He also enjoys movies, good music, loves to eat cuisine from all around the world and is always willing to try something new and exciting, creative writing is also something that he is deeply interested in.
